Reticuline Grates

Morgan’s Welding engineers robust grates and frames, including reticuline grates, for a wide array of municipal applications. Reticuline grates are critical components in stormwater management systems and ideal for use in “sag” or sump locations where water collects. However, beyond stormwater management, reticuline grates play a key role in another application: keeping cyclists safe!

Safety

Bike traffic is on the rise in North America (over 100 million Americans ride bikes!), and states like New York and Massachusetts are making significant infrastructure improvements to ensure their cyclists stay safe.

If you’re expanding or redesigning your municipality’s infrastructure, Morgan’s Welding is here to help! We offer a variety of heavy-duty, light-duty, and riveted options in standard and customized designs, based on application needs.

Benefits

Beyond ensuring stormwater runoff is collected and drained, reticuline grates can provide:

  • Higher Hydraulic Efficiency: Reticuline grating feature diamond-pattern bars. This pattern allows water to flow freely, reducing clogging and improving drainage during heavy rainfall events.
  • Stronger Load Distribution: Reticuline grates feature intersecting bars that spread load more uniformly across the grate, reducing bending and warping under heavy traffic.
  • Reduced Maintenance: Reticuline grates shed debris more effectively, so fewer repairs and replacements are needed.
  • A Longer Service Life: Our grates are made from durable materials that are resistant to snow, ice, salt, and freeze-thaw cycles.

Standard & Custom Options

Standard:

All standard reticuline grates are made from strong carbon steel and are available in heights ranging from 2” to 4’. Our standard options are manufactured with welded flat-bar banding at the ends, and some models offer additional support angles and bolting tabs as needed. Because these grates are used outside, all standard reticuline grates feature a galvanized finish to improve corrosion resistance.

Custom:

If our standard products won’t meet your unique requirements, we offer custom design options. To start the process, contact us online or by phone with the following information:

  • Size and height of the grate
  • Load rating
  • Drawings (if you have them)

From there, a team member will provide a quote and an estimated lead time. We strive to provide same-day quotes or 24-hour quotes at the absolute latest.
