ADA Requirements

For grating to be ADA-compliant, it must meet two primary requirements:
  • Opening must not exceed 1/4” (without treatment) or 1/2” (with a beveled edge) to ensure wheelchairs and other equipment don’t get stuck.
  • Openings have to be oriented perpendicular to the primary direction of travel.
